Elizabeth & Cory // Bridgeton

Driving the back roads to Bridgeton was like opening a storybook of old-time America. The road weaved up and down and curved through small hamlets, fields, and woods. We arrived in town where the annual covered bridge festival takes place to find the bridal party and family setting up pews facing the Case 1822 Log Cabin. There was such sweetness as Elizabeth, the first of five siblings to marry, had her first look with her dad, sisters, and bridesmaids. The wedding took place on the log cabin steps and afterward we strolled the streets of Bridgeton and spent time for portraits at one of most famous covered bridges in the state. Later, we were back at the 1878 barn to celebrate. The purity, reverence, and heartfelt joy of the day was something we felt and cherished long after we went home. Many sweet blessings on you and your marriage, Elizabeth and Cory!

Brittany & Carl // Hines Hill

“The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.”
G.K. Chesterton

We wondered why Brittany and Carl had chosen to get ready over an hour away from their ceremony site…until we arrived. The picturesque cottage right on Lake Erie was the perfect place to start a day that had been long in coming. Brittany and Carl waited a long time for this day to finally come, where they pledged their hearts to each other in the presence of their two sweet daughters, their family, and their friends. Surrounded by the height of the autumn colors at Hines Hill in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park the two exchanged vows. Then it was time to celebrate together with a warm, intimate dinner at the Creekside Restaurant. A beautiful day, a beautiful couple, a beautiful family. Many blessings on you and your marriage, Brittany and Carl!

Rachel & Jayce // The Oak at Millsite Farm

Rachel and Jayce tied the knot last year in an intimate ceremony at Red River Gorge.  This year it was time to get friends and the whole family together at the Oak at Millsite Farm to party!  In rural Sandusky, Ohio, Rachel made her way down the ‘aisle’ by being driven by her grandparents in a 1960’s Checker Aerobus right up to the front of the ceremony, held under a 400 year old oak tree.  Later, the party opened up in the rustic and elegant 1880 barn. Once the dance floor opened, there was no stopping, and Rachel and Jayce were in the thick of it for most of the time!  Many blessings on your doubly-confirmed marriage, Rachel and Jayce!

Lauren & Daniel // Wilderness Event Center

“We do redo!”  Lauren and Dan didn’t let 2020 stop them from pledging their lives to one another with a small family wedding.  This June, they excitedly brought family and friends together for a “We do redo!”  We enjoyed catching Lauren and her sweet bridesmaids getting ready at her parent’s home and then headed to the outdoor ceremony.   It was a hot day, but considering that the forecast originally called for rain, we were grateful!  Accompanied by great laughter it was announced, “By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you…still married!”  One of the sweetest moments at the reception in the rustic barn event center came from a letter from Lauren’s grandpa that he composed before his passing.  The rest of the night was filled with grand fun (even a conga line!) and sweetness as Lauren and Dan completed the Redo of their We Do.

Lauren & Dan’s Teaser!

“We do redo.”

These were the words on Lauren and Dan’s save-the-dates to invite family and friends to witness them say “We do” again since they could only do a small family wedding last year.  It seems a good message for all marriages, though.  We must choose to commit again each day to say “We do” to working through life, with its joys and troubles, together.  We can all use a “We do redo.”  Enjoy this highlight of Lauren & Dan’s sweet day.

Megan & Billy’s Teaser!

Wait ‘til you see this dance!

“To be fond of dancing was a certain step towards falling in love.” – Jane Austen

Megan and Billy performed one of the most stunning couple dances we can remember!  Like their dance, the two of them have learned to bring their two lives together and are making something beautiful.  Enjoy this small taste of their glorious wedding day.

Karli & Cameron // Mapleside Farms

Karli and Cameron are such a delightful couple. Karli’s sweet gusto and Cameron’s kindhearted smile go hand-in-hand and it was a joy to capture their day on film. The fun was palpable as we came to Karli’s family’s home in the morning with laughter and joy all around. This sweet atmosphere continued into the church and on to the reception. Our favorite moments were sharing the sunset over the apple orchards at Mapleside, purported to be the best place to view the sunset in the Cleveland area. And it did not disappoint. We had so much fun capturing Karli and Cameron with the brilliant red and orange sun descending behind them. Despite the cool air, the warmth of their family and friends was aglow all day and through the evening reception. Many blessings on you both, Karli and Cameron, and on your marriage!

Abby & Nate // George Clifton Barn

It could not have been a more lovely day in early August for Nate and Abby’s wedding.  The day started out at the Beer family home where Abby and her two sisters helped Abby do her makeup.  When Abby’s dad had his first look at Abby in her gown he melted and the tears fell.  Then we were off to St. Joseph’s for the beautiful ceremony.  After time for photos and video on the coast of Lake Erie we ended the evening at the Clifton Barn.  Our favorite memory of the night was the hilarious “shoe game,” where the bride and groom sat back to back answering questions (by raising a shoe!) to see how much they knew about the other.  Many blessings to you both, Abby and Nate, on your marriage!
