Goofing around!

One of our recent couples, Lauren and James, had this fun idea which we tried out. See what you think of their long line-up as I attempt to walk the camera backward (without falling!). I thought it was quite a blast!

Jess & Chris // Valley of the Eagles

Jess and Chris’ wedding day started as a day of waiting on rain.  The blessing was that it kept moving back in the forecast and they had a rain-free outdoor ceremony!  After Jess and Chris’ heartfelt and touching ceremony, we hopped on a golf cart at Valley of the Eagles and zoomed off to take video and pics by a rugged cliff and lush field.  Then we were off to the reception (which was thankfully indoors because the rain finally came!) where the bridal party entered, adorned with photobook costumes.  Our favorite moment of the day came at sundown as the rain cleared and a stunning glow came over the horizon.  We scurried out with Natalie, their wonderful photographer, and captured our favorite moments of the day as the sun set.  Many blessings to you both and your marriage, Jess and Chris!

Molly & Joe // Chagrin Valley Country Club

We began our day with Molly at the elegant Chagrin Valley Country Club while she and her bridesmaids prepared for the day in a second-floor studio. For fun, Molly and the girls opened up what appeared to be a bottle of champagne, but was actually full of confetti which burst into the air amid shouts and exuberant laughter! After a tear-jerking first-look, and some humor, with Molly’s dad, we were off to Joe’s first-look on the golf green. Here Molly planned a little humor too as she held up a photo of their dog on a popsicle stick. Before the ceremony, Molly and Joe were officially married when both signed the ornate ketubah document along with two witnesses and a rabbi, who joked that they didn’t technically need the ceremony now! But, off to the ceremony they went, underneath a large tree, acting as a chuppah. Later, Molly and Joe burst onto the dance floor, giddy with celebration which carried on the rest of the gorgeous evening. Many blessings to you both and your marriage, Molly and Joe!

Fadi & Nour // Westwood Country Club

The sense of community on the day of Fadi and Nour’s Jordanian wedding day felt like a life-giving wave.  Early in the day Fadi’s uncle, surrounded by family, asked permission of Nour’s father for the marriage.  Upon acceptance, the room erupted in cheers and blessings, followed by the entrance of Nour and her bridal party and then a Jordanian band.  The dancing began and continued as the band led Nour and family through the hotel lobby and out to her waiting 1949 Dodge Coronet.  Off she went to St. Elias Melkite Catholic Church where the she and Fadi were crowned and took their first steps as husband and wife around a table near the altar.  Then the full celebration took place at the Westwood Country Club where the dancing rarely stopped and friends and family celebrated with abandon!  Many blessings to you both and your marriage, Fadi and Nour!

Elizabeth & Cory // Bridgeton

Driving the back roads to Bridgeton was like opening a storybook of old-time America. The road weaved up and down and curved through small hamlets, fields, and woods. We arrived in town where the annual covered bridge festival takes place to find the bridal party and family setting up pews facing the Case 1822 Log Cabin. There was such sweetness as Elizabeth, the first of five siblings to marry, had her first look with her dad, sisters, and bridesmaids. The wedding took place on the log cabin steps and afterward we strolled the streets of Bridgeton and spent time for portraits at one of most famous covered bridges in the state. Later, we were back at the 1878 barn to celebrate. The purity, reverence, and heartfelt joy of the day was something we felt and cherished long after we went home. Many sweet blessings on you and your marriage, Elizabeth and Cory!

Brittany & Carl // Hines Hill

“The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.”
G.K. Chesterton

We wondered why Brittany and Carl had chosen to get ready over an hour away from their ceremony site…until we arrived. The picturesque cottage right on Lake Erie was the perfect place to start a day that had been long in coming. Brittany and Carl waited a long time for this day to finally come, where they pledged their hearts to each other in the presence of their two sweet daughters, their family, and their friends. Surrounded by the height of the autumn colors at Hines Hill in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park the two exchanged vows. Then it was time to celebrate together with a warm, intimate dinner at the Creekside Restaurant. A beautiful day, a beautiful couple, a beautiful family. Many blessings on you and your marriage, Brittany and Carl!
